Jan.18  & Mar. 22, 2009        Golden Age Society

The thought was this would be a fun day for seasoned quilters and the newest newbies to "give back" to our community.  The participants donated their own fabric, blocks, fat quarters as well as batting.  Along with the usual quilting supplies each also brought their favourite dish for a pot luck lunch.

Classy Quilts "not like your granny made"

Sept, 1-17 , 2006                  MacBride Museum

We all love to see the work of a fellow quilter and especially when we have shared in the learning process while attending workshops.  Over the years, the guild has sponsored workshops with quilt artists such as Gabrielle Swain, Pamela Godderis, Jane Sassaman, Libby Lehman & Ruth McDowell.  The guild decided that it would be a perfect time to display and share our finished piece from these classes with others.

Fourteen of our guild members contributed 25 of their classy quilts to the quilt exhibition.  Several original wall quilts made by Gabrielle Swain were also on display.  There were about 90 visitors to our opening reception held on September 1st and a steady stream of visitors throughout the 2 weeks of the show not to mention the fair amount of media attention it all received.  The show was a success.
