Kluane Quilter's Guild
P.O. Box 31282
Whitehorse, Yukon

In 1994 in the Yukon community of Haines Junction a small group of ambitious quilters met, as they had many times in the past, to discuss incorporating their group into a Society. The Haines Junction Public Library had been chosen as the location the Guild would carry on its activities. Most importantly however was their purpose for creating such an organization which was to promote and educate local and regional society members in the art of quilting.
In September 1994 the Kluane Quilters Guild became an Incorporated Society adopting the slogan " A registered Non Profit Society For All Yukon Quilters". By 1995 the greater majority of guild members resided in Whitehorse, the Yukon's capital city, so it was decided to move the guild to Whitehorse where it remains today. In 2000 while plans were underway to present " Quilts Under the Midnight Sun" a design was created to represent the event and later adopted as the guilds present day logo.
Though the membership isn't large, by southern standards, it continues to grow yearly both in numbers and geographically. Our guild is pleased to have members in British Columbia and Alaska.
